The final project explores the political and social unrest of Sri Lanka, at a time when kidnapping and murdering those who were not subservient to the ruling party was prevalent. The plot revolves around the abduction of a university student.

Prauda Buwaneka wrote the screenplay and directed the film, while I acted as the director of photography. In 2012 Sri Lankan society witnessed a disturbing spate of politically motivated abductions of journalists, artists, and university political activists. The entire country became privy to the open secret of white vans abducting those who dared to speak up against the ruling party. The final project sought to initiate discussions about this uncomfortable topic.

We screened the final project in 2012 at the Lionel Wendt theatre, parallel to the ‘Upanetha’ film and photography festival.
